Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL) has approached the French Navy to expand military cooperation aimed at strengthening Indonesia’s defense posture.

This initiative was marked by a meeting between TNI-AL Chief of Staff Admiral Muhammad Ali and his French counterpart, Admiral Nicolas Vaujour in Paris on Tuesday (July 15).

In a press release received in Jakarta on Wednesday, the TNI-AL explained that the meeting was part of the navy’s participation in the 2025 Bastille Day celebrations, where its personnel formed an Indonesian joint military-police troop that led a parade along the Champs-Elysees in Paris.
