Jakarta (ANTARA) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has expressed his willingness to accept Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto's invitation to visit Indonesia, which was extended during their meeting near Minsk, the capital of Belarus.

After concluding his agenda in France, where he observed the Indonesian military's participation in the Bastille Day parade, President Prabowo made a brief stop in Belarus to meet Lukashenko before returning to Indonesia.

According to a statement from Prabowo’s office on Wednesday, the two leaders met on Tuesday at Lukashenko's residence in Ozyorny, near Minsk.

"Mr. President, after the restoration of this house and before your visit, only President Putin has visited. A long time ago, before the restoration, Chinese President Xi Jinping also visited with his family," Lukashenko told Prabowo, highlighting the house's past role as a military residence.

During their three-hour meeting — described by Prabowo's office as "relaxed and friendly" — the two leaders discussed strategic issues and potential areas of cooperation.

"I am pleased to welcome you to this house and ready to discuss all aspects of our bilateral relations," Lukashenko said.

Prabowo thanked Lukashenko for the warm welcome and extended an invitation for a reciprocal visit.

"I also hope Your Excellency will visit Indonesia soon," he said.

In response, Lukashenko said he is "looking forward to visiting Indonesia again," referring to his previous trip to Jakarta in 2013.

After arriving in Jakarta on Wednesday, Prabowo told the media that his visit to Belarus was part of the government's broader effort to strengthen Indonesia's food security — particularly by ensuring access to fertilizers for domestic farmers.

"Belarus needs a wide range of commodities from Indonesia, while we need fertilizers, including potash," he said at Halim Perdanakusuma Air Base in Jakarta.
