Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Kemlu) and the Danantara Indonesia Investment Management Agency are strengthening synergy in executing the country's economic diplomacy.

According to a written statement from the ministry received here on Monday, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arrmanatha Christiawan Nasir emphasized that efforts to strengthen this synergy include establishing a regular coordination mechanism to ensure alignment of investment priorities and diplomatic strategies.

"Danantara's role is closely aligned with the ministry's main duties and functions as the cornerstone of Indonesia's economic diplomacy. Therefore, synergy and Indonesian diplomatic support for Danantara are inevitable," the deputy minister, familiarly known as Tata, remarked.

Nasir made the statement during a briefing on the Strategic Role of Indonesian Diplomacy in Supporting the Danantara Investment Management Agency in Strengthening the Indonesian Economy in Jakarta.

Danantara also has the potential to support Indonesian diplomacy in development cooperation by making strategic investments in emerging economies.

In the statement, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the synergy must also ensure compliance with applicable international norms and laws.

Nasir also conveyed Indonesian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono's mandate to Indonesian representatives and diplomats worldwide to fully support Danantara by proactively and aggressively pursuing opportunities for collaboration, identifying potentials, and realizing Danantara's strategic investments in friendly countries.

"I invite you at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Danantara, and all Indonesian Representatives to collaborate closely to realize the president's vision through Danantara," he remarked.

This collaboration can be realized through various efforts, including regular coordination involving the Directorate General of Economic Relations and Development Cooperation at the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which will focus on promoting economic diplomacy.

Meanwhile, Danantara's Chief Investment Officer (CIO), Pandu Patria Sjahrir, highlighted the importance of partnerships with various international stakeholders to support Danantara's mission, including acquiring access to investment partners and capital.

"Indonesian ambassadors abroad are Danantara's eyes and ears in expanding partnerships and accessing knowledge, technology, and know-how," he remarked.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Danantara will continue to strengthen their collaboration and synergy to support the realization of the Advanced Indonesia vision and ensure Danantara is recognized and trusted as a world-class sovereign wealth fund (SWF).

Danantara is a strategic investment management body that consolidates and optimizes government investments to support national economic growth.

To achieve its strategic objectives, Danantara is committed to driving economic transformation through a professional approach and implementing good governance.
