The collaboration was confirmed after Sjamsoeddin and Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the headquarters of the Ministry of Defense in Jakarta on Tuesday.
“This is intended to ensure the construction is safe and achieves its goals,” he told the press.
The minister added that TNI officers will be deployed to support the building construction. Furthermore, the TNI will deploy its healthcare personnel to serve at the 14 hospitals.
During the construction, the TNI will also send its officers to secure the sites from attacks by certain groups.
Sjamsoeddin assured that the construction will start in 2026.
Meanwhile, Sadikin expressed his appreciation for the assistance provided by the TNI through the Ministry of Defense.
He said that the TNI has been very helpful because it has complete construction facilities, a large number of personnel, and high security standards.
The minister expressed confidence that the construction process will run smoothly with TNI's support in making the security system more well-organized.
