Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (BPJPH) has granted an accreditation certificate to the World Halal Trust (WHT) of Lithuania, making it a foreign halal institution (LHLN) recognized by the agency.

In a statement delivered in Jakarta on Wednesday, BPJPH head Ahmad Haikal Hasan said that the certificate was issued upon the completion of the accreditation process by a cross-sectoral team.

“Through this effort, the BPJPH continues to expand international cooperation to ensure the halal status of products entering, circulating, and traded in Indonesia,” he added.

The accreditation certificate was presented by Hasan to a WHT representative, Farouk, in Jakarta.

With the accreditation, the WHT is now recognized by the BPJPH as a foreign halal institution authorized to carry out halal certification in its home country.

“This accreditation is not merely an administrative formality, but a shared commitment to uphold globally recognized and trusted halal standards,” Hasan said.

He emphasized that the BPJPH remains open to collaborating with various stakeholders.

He said that cooperation with foreign halal institutions must align with Indonesia’s halal product assurance requirements.

Recently, the BPJPH and a delegation from the European Union discussed coordination on the latest halal policy and regulatory developments in Indonesia.

Hasan said that the agency is proactively responding to inquiries and providing clarity on halal assurance services.

He informed that the goal is to ensure all stakeholders are well-informed about updates in halal product assurance regulations.

“This allows everyone to plan more effectively, in line with the mandatory halal certification policy stipulated by law,” he added.
