Last year, for the first time, the Independence Day flag hoisting ceremony was held at two venues: the Nusantara capital city in East Kalimantan and the State Palace in Jakarta.
This year, the flag hoisting will take place at the State Palace in Jakarta, Hadi said, adding that government representatives visited the former leaders and informally invited them to the ceremony.
As of Friday, several of the invitees have confirmed their willingness to join the ceremony, if there are no unforeseen circumstances, he added.
On Wednesday, President Prabowo Subianto officially launched the logo and theme of the nation’s 80th Independence Day, which highlight a message of unity, sovereignty, people’s prosperity, and Advanced Indonesia.
