“There will definitely be a future program that can facilitate training for prospective migrant workers or students before they work abroad. However, we must first find and prepare a financing scheme,” he informed in Bandarlampung, Lampung, on Wednesday.
“We are currently establishing a public migrant service agency, and the government is trying to facilitate this training by utilizing the People’s Business Credit (KUR) program to finance it,” he added.
He informed that the training will be financed using unsecured people’s business credit, with an interest rate of six percent and a maximum limit of Rp100 million.
“This funding will be used for training, preparation for overseas placement, and temporary living expenses for prospective migrant workers. We are working on this through the BLU for migrants,” he said.
According to Karding, once the Migrant BLU is established, the government also intends to set up a migrant fund, which will aim to provide financial assistance to prospective migrant workers, migrant workers, and retired workers.
“We hope that once this is established, we can help prospective migrant workers, and that migrant workers can become professional workers,” he said.
