The agreement was announced after a meeting with several national logistics driver associations at the Parliament Complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Monday.
“Toward the 2027 Zero ODOL goal, we have agreed together with the government and the Nusantara Logistics Drivers Association (APLN) to establish a joint team to formulate several policies based on the aspirations of our colleagues from APLN,” Deputy Speaker of the House, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, announced.
Ahmad said that the decision was made in response to President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to accelerate the enforcement of Indonesia’s Zero ODOL policy.
“It was conveyed earlier by the Minister of State Secretary (Prasetyo Hadi) that the President is paying close attention to the issue of over-dimension and overloading,” he added.
Minister of Transportation, Dudy Purwagandhi, who also attended the meeting, affirmed the government’s readiness to follow up with technical measures to implement the agreement.
“We agreed that a joint commitment is important to enforce the Zero ODOL policy and several matters that we need to prepare related to its implementation will begin immediately carried out, as agreed in the meeting,” he said.
The minister welcomed the meeting, emphasizing that it reflects the strong joint commitment of stakeholders to enforce the Zero ODOL policy by 2027.
“I believe today’s meeting, initiated by the DPR, was very productive, so that going forward, we have a clear agenda to achieve the Zero ODOL target,” he added.
Representing logistics drivers, Suroso, chairperson of the Independent Drivers Alliance (API), affirmed the commitment of Indonesian logistics drivers to support and implement the policy.
“Fundamentally, the drivers will agree, and together with the government and DPR, we will support the path toward Zero ODOL policy by 2027. We are in full agreement that the Zero ODOL policy must be implemented and enforced by 2027 in our country. As drivers, we stand united in this commitment,” he said.
