Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto received a visit from General Xu Xiegaing, Head of the Equipment Development Department of China's Central Military Commission, at his private residence in Jakarta on Tuesday (August 5).

In a post on the Instagram account @presidenrepublikindonesia, cited on Thursday, the president hosted the Chinese general for dinner and exchanged views on strengthening defense posture through technological development.

The caption described the meeting as a reflection of the commitment shared by Indonesia and China to deepen strategic cooperation and advance militarily on the global stage, including through technology transfers.

Photos uploaded to the account show the meeting took place in a warm, cordial atmosphere.

The Indonesian president wore a blue and golden batik shirt, while the Chinese envoy donned a similar batik in blue and purple.

Prabowo and Xu exchanged salutes as the president welcomed the general on the terrace of his residence.

The Indonesian leader also presented a traditional dagger, keris, to his distinguished guest.

Indonesian Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin and Chinese Ambassador to Indonesia Wang Lutong were also present at the meeting.
