Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Investment and Downstream Development and Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, stated that the public-private partnership (PPP) scheme is an absolute essential for increasing investment.

"If we look at the Indonesian economy, the investment pie continues to expand, continues to grow, and it is impossible for the government and Danantara to handle this alone," he remarked in Jakarta on Thursday.

Roeslani affirmed that Indonesia's investment needs in 2025 are projected to reach Rp1,905.6 trillion, making the PPP scheme a necessity.

Infrastructure projects in Indonesia are numerous, ranging from hard infrastructure, such as toll roads, airports, ports, and dams, to digital infrastructure, including Base Transceiver Stations (BTS) and data centers.

"Regarding digital infrastructure, I can say that investors' interest in Indonesia is also very high. I have seen their interest in the past few months, and I have been in dialogue with all the major players in digital infrastructure. They are also interested in investing in Indonesia. But again, they also want it to be supported by new and renewable energy (EBT). So, everything is interconnected," he elaborated.

To this end, he stated that the PPP scheme is essential and must be promoted in the future to increase investment.

The PPP scheme is a collaboration between the government and business entities in providing infrastructure and/or services for the public interest, referring to specifications established by the government, which partially or entirely utilize the resources of the business entity, with attention to risk sharing between the parties.

The government continues to build an inclusive, conducive, transparent, and accountable infrastructure financing ecosystem to attract private investment, both domestic and international, as well as other relevant stakeholders, to join hands in building infrastructure through collaborative financing.

In addition to the funding scheme, the PPP is a strategic effort to encourage innovation and strengthen the soft and hard skills of the national workforce.

With strong synergy between the government and the business sector, infrastructure development will be of higher quality, enhancing Indonesia's global competitiveness.
