“TIFF has created a multiplier effect that benefits the community directly, going beyond simply attracting visitors to the festival area,” Minister Wardhana stated here on Saturday.
TIFF 2025 is being held on August 8-12, 2025.
According to Wardhana, TIFF has also boosted tourist visits to other destinations in Tomohon City, such as Mount Lokon, Lake Linow, Kampung Temboan Village, and various cultural attractions.
“These visits stimulate the local economy by involving micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), artisans, culinary businesses, as well as transportation and accommodation services,” she remarked.
Based on the impact analysis from the Kharisma Event Nusantara (KEN) in 2024, TIFF recorded over 300 thousand visitors and generated an economic turnover of more than Rp92 billion, or around US$5.6 million.
“This proves that festivals like TIFF serve as drivers of economic growth and public welfare,” she remarked.
One of TIFF’s main attractions is the flower exhibition, which blends floral artistry with creative designs. Costumes are crafted from fabric and adorned with arrangements of fresh flowers.
Participants range from the public and artists to government agencies, private companies, and international contributors, making this festival an inclusive and open platform for anyone looking to promote tourism through artistic expression.
“The Ministry of Tourism continues to support the development of regional events like TIFF by enhancing human resource capacity, strengthening the creative ecosystem, and expanding promotion to international markets,” Minister Wardhana stated.
She expressed hope that the Tomohon International Flower Festival will continue to flourish as a symbol of national pride.
“From Tomohon, we send a message to the world: This is Indonesia — beautiful in diversity, strong in synergy, and rich in culture,” she stated.
