Jakarta (ANTARA) - In a statement issued on Monday, Head of Indonesia’s National Food Agency (Bapanas), Arief Prasetyo Adi, emphasized the importance of synergy between the government and the business sector in building a strong and sustainable national food ecosystem.

“The concept of Indonesia Incorporated is highly relevant to the food sector. By uniting the strengths of government, businesses, and the community, we can build an efficient, fair, and resilient food supply chain from upstream to downstream,” Arief said in a statement issued in Jakarta.

He explained that the Indonesia Incorporated approach - championed by President Prabowo Subianto - reflects the unification of government and business efforts to achieve broad-based prosperity for the people.

According to Arief, the President also highlighted the strategic role of medium and large enterprises in supporting micro and small businesses, as well as underserved communities.

Arief further noted that the success of key government programs, such as the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) initiative and the strengthening of Red-and-White Village Cooperative Networks (Koperasi Desa/Kelurahan Merah Putih), requires tangible private sector support—ranging from investment and technological innovation to mentoring for small-scale food entrepreneurs.

“We encourage the private sector to become active partners in strengthening local food production, processing, and distribution. This will help ensure that all segments of society have access to nutritious, high-quality food at affordable prices,” said Arief, who also serves as Head of the Food Committee at the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN).

He added that Bapanas will continue to strengthen collaboration with KADIN Indonesia and private sector actors to ensure the availability, affordability, and price stability of food across the country.

Meanwhile, KADIN Indonesia Chairman Anindya Bakrie restated the organization’s commitment to serving as a strategic partner to the government, including Bapanas, in supporting national food security and sovereignty.

“President Prabowo’s message has deeply resonated with us, motivating KADIN to step up efforts in supporting those who are small and left behind. We view the food sector as a key driver for accelerating economic growth and improving public welfare,” Anindya said.

“We are ready to work closely with Bapanas to strengthen the national food supply chain, foster innovation, and promote the downstream development of local food products,” he added.
