"Both international events will be held soon at Lake Toba," said North Sumatra Provincial Secretary Togap Simangunsong at the Governor’s Office on Monday.
The 2025 Aquabike Jetski World Championship will take place in Balige City, Toba District, North Sumatra, from August 13–17, while the 2025 F1 Powerboat World Championship is scheduled for August 22–24 in Parapat Sub-district, Girsang Sipangan Bolon, Simalungun District, North Sumatra.
"The provincial government fully supports these events, as their positive impacts have grown year after year," Togap said.
Further, according to Togap, the provincial government’s support includes coordination and synchronization, funding, scheduling, cost standardization and monitoring, infrastructure development, provision of supporting facilities, administrative and permit management, as well as promotion and publicity.

He emphasized that the success of these international events will require the collaboration of all stakeholders, including the regional leadership coordination forum (Forkopimda) and local governments.
The North Sumatra administration reported that the 2025 Aquabike Jetski World Championship will feature 53 world-class riders plus national participants, while the 2025 F1 Powerboat World Championship will see 24 international drivers competing.
"We hope these events run smoothly and successfully, as they will boost tourism and the economy in North Sumatra," Togap said.
Mandalika Grand Prix Association Deputy Director Samsul Purba stated that preparations for the 2025 Aquabike Jetski World Championship have reached 95 percent, with most of the logistics already delivered to Balige City, Toba District.
"This is our third year hosting. Previous events ran smoothly and achieved the exposure we expected. Overall, we are ready, and most of the equipment is already on site," Samsul said.
