The certification was granted under both the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) and the Renewable Energy Directive of the European Union (RED-EU), according to a statement received in Jakarta, Tuesday.
This achievement strengthens Pertamina Patra Niaga’s position as a pioneer in the distribution of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) in Southeast Asia and serves as tangible evidence of its support for global efforts to reduce carbon emissions in the aviation sector.
The certification was presented by Ryanza Prasetya, CEO of PT Qualitas Sertifikasi Indonesia (QSI), to Simon Aloysius Mantiri, President Director of PT Pertamina (Persero), in a ceremony witnessed by National Development Planning Minister Rachmat Pambudy, Pertamina’s President Commissioner Mochamad Iriawan, and Pertamina Patra Niaga’s Director of Planning and Business Development Harsono Budi Santoso.
The event was held in Jakarta on Monday (August 11) as part of the “Pertamina Roadmap: Advancing Energy Sovereignty through Sustainable Business” program.
PT QSI is a certification body partnered with ISCC, the first international certification system that verifies sustainability and greenhouse gas savings for all types of biomass and bioenergy.
Harsono Budi emphasized that obtaining the ISCC certification for both CORSIA and RED-EU is a crucial milestone for Pertamina Patra Niaga, particularly as a distributor of SAF.
"This August 2025, Pertamina Patra Niaga has once again been recognized by ISCC for compliance with the ISCC framework under the CORSIA scheme," Harsono stated.
He remarked that the certification extends Pertamina Patra Niaga’s status as Southeast Asia’s first ISCC-certified SAF Trader with Storage -- a designation it has held since 2024.
“Last year, the certification only covered two airports -- Soekarno-Hatta and Ngurah Rai. This year, we have added another major airport: Halim Perdanakusuma,” Harsono explained.
The certified facilities for 2025 include the Aviation Fuel Terminals (AFT) at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali, and Halim Perdanakusuma Airport in Jakarta.
Harsono underscored that this certification provides official legitimacy for Pertamina Patra Niaga to supply SAF to airlines while also ensuring that its products and infrastructure comply with global industry standards.
“This certification is a fundamental requirement for SAF distribution, and it reflects our ongoing commitment to advancing the energy transition in the aviation sector. We will continue to provide environmentally friendly fuel solutions that support the sustainability of Indonesia’s aviation industry,” he affirmed.
This milestone marks a concrete step in Pertamina Patra Niaga’s efforts to drive energy transition in aviation and accelerate Indonesia’s progress toward its Net Zero Emissions target by 2060.
