“Sekolah Rakyat is a strategic answer to addressing education equality,” Muzani said in his introductory speech at the 2025 MPR Annual Session at the Parliamentary Complex here on Friday.
Sekolah Rakyat is a priority program of President Prabowo Subianto, which is targeted at children from poor and extremely poor families.
The Social Ministry recently announced that the first phase of 100 Sekolah Rakyat schools in various regions will be ready for full operation by mid-August 2025 after the completion of all facilities and infrastructure.
He said Sekolah Rakyat provides an opportunity for underprivileged children to receive education.
“Sekolah Rakyat is specifically present for underprivileged children who have faced difficulties in accessing quality education,” he remarked.
With that goal, he said that Sekolah Rakyat can serve as a solution that opens opportunities for every child in the nation to pursue a better future.
The Indonesian Parliament held the 2025 MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representative Council (DPD) at the Nusantara Building, Parliamentary Complex here on Friday.
As part of the agenda, President Prabowo Subianto was scheduled to deliver a speech outlining the performance reports of state agencies as well as a state address to mark the 80th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence.
The 2025 MPR Annual Session and Joint Session of DPR and DPD were held ahead of the 80th Anniversary of the Independence Day, which carries the theme "United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, and Advanced Indonesia"
