Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia's Ministry of Villages is calling on content creators in rural areas to help promote and brand local products, aiming to improve their competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

"Farmers, fishers, artisans, and MSMEs in villages need support so their products gain wider recognition," Head of the ministry's Civil Servant Training Center Chusnul Chotimah said during a Village School Webinar on Wednesday.

She noted that villages make up 89.41 percent of Indonesia's territory and are the source of many key export commodities, from agricultural goods to handicrafts.

However, she stressed that export success depends not only on product quality but also on effective marketing and branding.

In this regard, collaboration between village business players and digital content creators could add value, expand market reach, and help reduce economic disparities, she said.

"Improving digital literacy in villages is essential. With a better grasp of global market trends, rural entrepreneurs can use technology to increase product competitiveness," she added.

The government aims to position villages as drivers of national growth, in line with President Prabowo Subianto's development agenda to promote economic equality and reduce poverty.

Content creators, Chotimah said, have a key role in accelerating these goals by connecting local products with wider audiences.
