"The sector grew by 5.8 percent year-on-year in the first quarter of 2025, making it a major absorber of the Indonesian workforce," the minister said here, Friday.
To support this and other industries, the ministry has developed strategic initiatives, including vocational training with a modern curriculum that focuses on green and digital skills.
They are also establishing "Talent Hubs" and "Innovation Hubs" to foster collaboration between industry, academia, and the government.
Yassierli also highlighted the ministry's ongoing partnerships with companies to expand job access, citing over 70 collaborations with national and international firms in 2025.
This commitment was recently demonstrated through an MoU with PT. Abuya Berkah Indonesia Makmur, which aims to improve the skills and productivity of 10,000 workers.
The Minister expressed his hope that this collaboration will serve as a model for public-private synergy in creating a skilled and competitive workforce, aligning with the government's Asta Cita and Golden Indonesia 2045 vision for human resource development.
