Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto inaugurated Police Commissioner General Eddy Hartono as the new head of the National Counter-Terrorism Agency (BNPT) at the Presidential Palace, Jakarta, on Monday.

Hartono, who replaced Police Commissioner General Rycko Amelza Dahniel, was inaugurated as per Presidential Decree Number 117/TPA of 2025 on the Dismissal and Appointment of High-Ranking Officials within the BNPT.

The new BNPT head was inaugurated together with several other new state officials, including Police Inspector General Suyudi Ario Seto, who was inaugurated as the new head of the National Narcotics Agency (BNN).

At the palace, President Prabowo guided Hartono in taking the oath of office as the new BNPT head.

"I pledge that I will be loyal to the 1945 Constitution and carry out all applicable laws for the sake of my devotion and service to the nation and country," Hartono recited.

Following the oath-taking, the BNPT head and President Prabowo Subianto signed the official report of inauguration.

On Monday morning, President Prabowo Subianto also inaugurated several new ambassadors, including Dwisuryo Indroyono Soesilo as the Indonesian Ambassador to the United States and Judha Nugraha as the Indonesian Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates.

In addition to the president, the event was attended by the Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka and several Red and White Cabinet ministers, including Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Culture Minister Fadli Zon.
