The Patriot Expedition has deployed 2,000 members to 154 transmigration areas to support national self-sufficiency and economic development, the ministry said.
Brian Yuliarto said that the Patriot Expedition as a key example of synergy between the government, universities, and society, adding that the ministry's "Impactful Higher Education Policy" is designed to ensure that university research and activities create real-world impact.
With the support of technology and young talent, he believes transmigration areas can become engines of regional innovation.
He encouraged students and lecturers to use their knowledge to develop economic growth roadmaps and industrial development plans at each site.
"Apply the knowledge honed at your respective campuses for practical impact," Yuliarto said.
Meanwhile, Minister of Transmigration Muhammad Iftitah Sulaiman said this initiative aligns with the Asta Cita vision for equitable development.
He stressed that Indonesia must dare to develop from its villages to compete with major nations.
He called the Patriot Expedition Team a "bridge between the academic world and policymaking," ensuring that knowledge is not confined to academia but reaches the people to unite with them.
