Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Creative Economy Teuku Riefky stated that the national aviation sector has the potential to create a sustainable and competitive creative economy, thus becoming a new driver of national economic growth.

He made the statement following the strengthening of collaboration between the Ministry of Creative Economy and air transportation sector actors, which was formalized in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the 2025 Heli Expo Asia (HEXIA).

"This collaboration is expected to serve as a foundation for strengthening flagship programs and accelerating the growth of the national creative economy. Therefore, the creative economy is expected to become a new engine of national economic growth," the Minister said in a statement confirmed in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Minister Riefky stated that HEXIA 2025, which took place from August 20 to 24 at Cengkareng Heliport, Tangerang, Banten, supported Indonesia's rapidly growing creative industry and air transportation connectivity.

According to him, the involvement of local air transportation industry actors could make Indonesia a center for innovation and investment in the air transportation sector and the increasingly innovative creative industry, especially when the nation's intellectual property is showcased at the event.

"The involvement of several artists from the creative industry certainly brings this event closer to the public. From the aviation sector, we are building a bridge to an innovative, globally competitive, and sustainable Indonesian creative economy," he noted.

At the 2025 HEXIA, the Ministry of Creative Economy signed a memorandum of understanding with local business activist Whitesky Group to make Indonesia an innovation hub for air transportation modes that are expected to provide added value in the creative economy.

Several things were agreed upon, including the exchange of data and information between the two parties, research support and coordination in the preparation of creative economy policies, the implementation of joint activities at home and abroad, and the development and protection of intellectual property in the creative economy sector.

In addition, both parties have agreed to facilitate funding and financing support, utilize each party's assets or infrastructure for the development of the creative economy, develop marketing in the creative economy sector, and increase human resource capacity.

Whitesky Group CEO Denon Prawiraatmadja stated that in the 2025 HEXIA, his company is providing a space for creative economy artists and the younger generation to explore the aviation industry in a fun way, through workshops, business meetings, and digital competency competitions.

"The 2025 HEXIA is not only a meeting place for the industry, particularly in the transportation sector, but also a learning and inspirational platform for the younger generation, involving academics, students, and creative communities, thus driving a stronger and more competitive aviation and creative economy ecosystem," he said.
