Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Culture Ministry in collaboration with the Indonesian Australia Students Association in Queensland (PPIAQ) promotes Indonesian arts and culture by utilizing the Indonesian Cultural House (RBI) in Australia as a cultural promotion center in Australia.

"We are not only promoting art, culture, and national values, but also building international networks and an active, collaborative role in global cultural dialogue," said Director of Cultural Promotion of the ministry, Undri, on Thursday.

"Pesta Rakyat 2025", held by the PPIAQ in Brisbane, Australia, featured various opening performances, including Muhibah Angklung, which performed Indonesian and international songs.

A number of Indonesian culinary stalls also enlivened the event, and the presence of international students strengthened the spirit of friendship and tolerance.

"Pesta Rakyat 2025 is a moment to strengthen ties and promote Indonesian culture, through cultural performances, arts, culinary delights, and a cultural parade to the global community," Undri said.

Similar to Undri, the Indonesian Consul General in Sydney, Pendekar Muda Leonard Sondakh, also stated that culture is a bridge between Indonesia and Australia for trade and investment.

"Culture is an important connector in the relationship between Indonesia and Australia, including in building trade and investment cooperation," he said.

Positive support also came from the Mayor of Brisbane, Adrian Schrinner, who expressed his pride in holding Indonesia's independence celebrations in the city center.

Through the activity, Indonesia is committed to playing an active role in cultural diplomacy.

The participation of students, the community, local partners, and official Indonesian representatives in Australia demonstrates the synergy in strengthening Indonesia's positive image globally.

"With this active participation, Indonesia's potential as a host, even as a world cultural capital, will grow and become Indonesia's face in the eyes of the world," Undri said.
