Samarinda (ANTARA) - Exports of various oil and gas and non-oil and gas commodities from East Kalimantan Province to various countries increased by 5.44 percent in July 2025 compared to the previous month, reaching US$1.7 billion.

The Head of Statistics Indonesia (BPS) of East Kalimantan Province, Yusniar Juliana, in Samarinda on Friday, stated that the export volume was derived from oil and gas valued at US$179.4 million, an increase of 29.56 percent.

“Non-oil and gas exports reached US$1.52 billion, a 3.18 percent increase,” she said.

There are three countries with the highest export values throughout July 2025: China, with US$497.67 million; India, with US$205.43 million; and the Philippines, with US$105.96 million.

From January to July 2025, Juliana continued, East Kalimantan's oil, gas, and non-oil and gas exports fluctuated, starting in January with a value of US$1.68 billion, rising to US$1.81 billion in February, and then slightly decreased to US$1.71 billion in March.

Then in April, it fell again to US$1.54 billion, then increased to US$1.67 billion in May, then decreased again slightly to US$1.61 billion in June, and then increased to US$1.7 billion in July.

In addition to exports, she continued, East Kalimantan also imports various commodities. In July 2025, the province's imports reached US$373.93 million, representing a 3.66 percent increase compared to June 2025.

The detail is oil and gas imports reached US$272.89 million, a 16.81 percent increase compared to June 2025. Conversely, non-oil and gas imports in July 2025 reached US$101.04 million, a 20.5 percent decrease.

During January-July 2025, she said, East Kalimantan imports also fluctuated: in January, it reached US$390.48 million, then rose to US$471.93 million in February, then decreased to US$374.03 million in March, and then slightly increased to US$381.36 million in April.

"Then in May, it rose again to US$416.04 million, in June, it decreased slightly to US$360.71 million, and in July, it increased slightly to US$373.93 million," Juliana said.
