“Entrepreneurship not only creates opportunities for individuals but also has a broad impact on society. One successful entrepreneur can generate new jobs, boost local economies and drive national growth,” Minister of Manpower Yassierli said in a statement.
He said the ministry has launched an integrated entrepreneurship program that provides training, mentoring, business matching and support for access to capital and markets.
The effort aligns with data from the Central Statistics Agency, which reported a decline in Indonesia’s open unemployment rate from 4.82 percent to 4.76 percent as of February 2025.
Yassierli also stressed the importance of cooperation between the ministry and stakeholders to expand access to job information, provide accurate labor market data and improve job placement.

“This program will only succeed if all parties work together — from government and business to educational institutions and the wider community,” he said.
Darmawansyah, the ministry’s director general for manpower placement and employment expansion, said the government remains committed to creating inclusive and sustainable jobs through training programs.
He said local governments are also supporting the effort by providing guidance, monitoring and evaluation to help training graduates become successful entrepreneurs.
“Through this entrepreneurship training, we empower vulnerable groups — including people with disabilities, the elderly, women and youth — to achieve economic independence,” Darmawansyah said.
The initiative is part of a wider strategy to reduce joblessness while preparing Indonesia’s workforce for long-term economic resilience.
Officials say the programs are designed not only to create individual success stories but also to generate broader community growth.
The ministry emphasized that entrepreneurship can serve as a catalyst for inclusive development and sustainable national progress.
