The meeting, held under the theme "Parliaments at the Forefront for Inclusive Growth and a Sustainable ASEAN," will officially run from September 18 to 20.
In a statement, Mardani Ali Sera, head of the House of Representatives' Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation Body (BKSAP), said both proposals were introduced during AIPA’s Executive Committee session.
The draft resolutions, titled "Addressing Humanitarian Assistance in Myanmar" and "Empowering ASEAN Communities Through Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation on Green and Blue Economies in ASEAN," will be forwarded for debate at AIPA's Political and Economic Committees.
Mardani stressed the need for ASEAN to act collectively and urgently on the crisis in Myanmar, which has been compounded by a recent earthquake in addition to the ongoing civil conflict.
"As one of ASEAN’s initiators and a 'big brother' in the region, Indonesia has an interest in ensuring ASEAN delivers the necessary response, especially as Myanmar’s conflict continues to affect Indonesia as well," he said.
On economic matters, he noted that advancing green and blue economy models — focused on sustainable land and marine resource management — could drive inclusive growth while safeguarding long-term development in Southeast Asia.
Mardani also led the Indonesian delegation at the AIPA–ASEAN Hearing, a dialogue between ASEAN governments and AIPA representatives that allows parliaments to monitor ASEAN’s policy actions and regional responses.
