Denpasar (ANTARA) - The Denpasar City Health Office (Dinkes) continues to provide health checks for residents affected by recent flooding, mobilizing several community health centers (Puskesmas) across the area.

“Public health is our top priority. We are on the ground to provide services and education so that residents become more aware of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and personal health, especially after a disaster,” said Anak Agung Ayu Agung Candrawati, Head of the Denpasar City Health Office, on Friday.

Candrawati and her team of health officers are working directly in the field, supported by personnel from various community health centers throughout Denpasar.

Their presence demonstrates the government’s commitment to safeguarding the health of residents during the recovery phase.

Candrawati added that services include free health checks, distribution of medicines and vitamins to boost immunity, as well as consultations and health education to raise awareness about potential post-flood diseases.

In addition, the health team is conducting chlorine testing on wells to prevent waterborne diseases and fumigating several high-risk areas, including Kesiman.

Candrawati emphasized that post-flood conditions are highly vulnerable to various diseases, ranging from diarrhea and skin infections to respiratory illnesses.

Rapid health intervention, she noted, is essential.

Residents who received the services expressed gratitude, saying they felt more at ease after health checks and receiving educational information from medical personnel.
