“The economic census plays an important role in employment development. Through this census, we gain a comprehensive overview of the structure of economic and employment development,” Deputy Minister Afriansyah, also known as Ferry, said in a statement issued here on Sunday.
He further explained that in today’s era of digital transformation, statistical data is increasingly expected to be adaptive, inclusive, and real-time.
“With integrated data, we deliver not just numbers, but impactful insights,” he stated.
Ferry noted that specifically, data from the economic census not only records production and distribution activities but also maps workforce needs across various sectors.

As such, the results of the economic census serve as a strategic foundation for shaping labor policies.
“This includes improving skills, strengthening entrepreneurship, and expanding employment opportunities in line with both national and global economic developments,” he added.
Marking the 2025 National Statistics Day, he called on all statisticians - at both central and regional levels - as well as government agencies, academics, business players, and the general public, to embrace statistics as the language of development.
“Every dataset we process, every analysis we generate, and every dissemination we carry out must make a tangible contribution to the nation's progress,” he said.
Ferry also emphasized that accurate employment data can help promote the creation of green jobs, enhance labor productivity, and develop a competent workforce aligned with the goals of sustainable development and the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
