"Women are the main pillar in child-rearing. However, parenting should not be the mother's responsibility alone - it must be shared by both parents," she said in an official statement received in Jakarta on Monday.
She made the remarks during the Gala Dinner and Sharing Session of the Women on the Move 2025 event in Badung Regency, Bali, on Saturday (Sept. 27).
Isyana emphasized that empowering women in families must go hand in hand with the support of fathers in sharing responsibilities.
To that end, the Ministry for Population and Family Development (Kemendukbangga) and BKKBN have launched the Indonesian Model Fathers Movement (Gerakan Ayah Teladan Indonesia or GATI), aimed at ensuring that parenting is not seen as solely the mother’s duty, but a joint responsibility.
"A mother’s mental health is just as important. Housework never ends, so it requires strong cooperation from fathers," she added.
The GATI program also aims to build harmonious, healthy, and balanced families as a vital foundation for realizing the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision.
With active participation from fathers and full support for women, it is hoped that a resilient generation will emerge - one that can lead Indonesia toward becoming a developed nation.
Isyana also called on all women to continue supporting one another in achieving the Golden Indonesia 2045 goal.
"If we want to realize Golden Indonesia 2045, we must work together - especially women. Let’s support one another; women supporting women," she said.
She underlined the critical role of women as pillars in family formation and child-rearing and highlighted the importance of a mother’s happiness in creating a healthy household.
"A happy child comes from a happy mom. If a woman at home is unhappy, the whole family will inevitably be affected," she concluded.
