He highlighted the importance of turning cultural values into creative products with strong economic value as a foundation for the sustainable growth of the creative industry.
“INACRAFT is closely linked to culture because culture is the source. The works displayed here showcase the creativity of regions across Indonesia,” Zon stated in the ministry's release on Friday.
He expressed appreciation for platforms such as INACRAFT, describing them as vital in empowering culture-based micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and promoting Indonesian handicrafts in both domestic and international markets.
He also encouraged similar events to be held not only in Jakarta but nationwide.
INACRAFT 2025, themed “Craft, Culture, and Future,” is one of Southeast Asia’s largest handicraft exhibitions, presenting a wide range of quality artisan products from across the archipelago.
The event serves as both a commercial platform and a space for cultural expression and creativity among local MSMEs.
On the same occasion, Indonesian Handicraft Exporters and Producers Association (ASEPHI) Chairman Muchsin Ridjan praised government support for INACRAFT 2025.
“With this year’s theme, we are building a handicraft ecosystem rooted in culture, moving forward with the community and government,” he said.
Meanwhile, Trade Minister Budi Santoso also called on the public, especially young people, to support local products.
“The future of Indonesian crafts is in our hands. Buying local means preserving culture and driving innovation,” he remarked.
