Basarnas Head Mohammad Syafii reported on Tuesday that 104 people survived, while 67 others lost their lives.
"Eight victims were discovered in incomplete pieces," he added.
Syafii said the government decided to conclude the search and rescue operation, which began immediately after the four-story building collapsed on September 29. All victims have been evacuated from the rubble.
He confirmed that all deceased victims had been handed over to the East Java Police’s Disaster Victim Identification (DVI) team for identification.
While the evacuation process has ended, authorities will continue follow-up measures, including investigating the cause of the collapse. Syafii said Basarnas had fulfilled its duties in the operation.
He expressed hope that the boarding school would soon recover and resume normal teaching and learning activities.
The East Java government has pledged to closely monitor the rebuilding process to ensure structural safety and prevent future incidents.
President of the Al Khoziny Alumni Association Zainal Abidin said the school's teachers and administrators would soon meet to discuss plans for resuming education programs.
"Teachers and administrators will convene to discuss the mechanism for resuming our education programs," he said.
Abidin urged all parties to trust the authorities and await the official results of the investigation into the cause of the collapse.
The incident trapped more than 100 people who were performing prayers in the ground-floor prayer room. The government promptly deployed personnel and equipment to assist in the evacuation.
Following the tragedy, President Prabowo Subianto and several top officials called for a nationwide review of structural safety standards at Islamic boarding schools, or pesantrens, to prevent similar incidents.
