Surabaya (ANTARA) - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has confirmed the temporary suspension of Nutrition Service Units (SPPG) that fail to comply with standard operating procedures.

“We will temporarily suspend SPPGs until evaluation and mitigation are completed. Once they meet the SOP requirements, they will be allowed to resume operations,” said BGN Head Dadan Hindayana in Surabaya on Tuesday evening (Oct 7).

Hindayana emphasized that SPPGs are permitted to operate only if they hold a Hygiene and Sanitation Certificate (SLHS) issued by the local health service.

Meanwhile, East Java Governor Khofifah Indar Parawansa said that the process of obtaining the SLHS certificate has become easier, as the authority has been delegated to local governments.

"Previously, it was handled by the Health Ministry; now it is managed by district and city health services," Parawansa noted.

She encouraged all SPPG managers to coordinate with local health services to accelerate the certificate issuance process, expressing hope that the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) Program will contribute to advancing the nation’s human resource development goals.

"The President’s vision to strengthen nutrition and human resources in pursuit of Indonesia Emas 2045 can be achieved through the effective implementation of the MBG Program," she stated.

According to Parawansa, the government continues to ensure that the MBG Program is implemented safely, healthily, and in line with established standards by strengthening SOPs and enhancing cross-sector collaboration.
