BPJPH Head Ahmad Haikal Hasan said the achievement reflects the growing awareness and commitment among business players toward halal product assurance across various sectors.
“In total, 9.6 million products in Indonesia have been certified halal. Halal-certified products are known for their quality, hygiene, and cleanliness, which enhance their competitiveness in the market,” Haikal said in a statement here on Friday.
The government aims to make halal certification mandatory for all products distributed in Indonesia by October 2026.
Haikal said the policy will strengthen the national halal assurance system while boosting consumer confidence both domestically and internationally.
BPJPH is also expanding its collaboration with various institutions to strengthen the national halal ecosystem.
“BPJPH continues to coordinate, synergize, and collaborate with ministries, agencies, local governments, state-owned and regional-owned enterprises, business associations, universities, professional organizations, community groups, and other stakeholders,” he said.
These efforts aim to ensure halal certification services are more effective, accessible, and supportive of business productivity across all regions.
Haikal added that BPJPH continues to digitalize and integrate halal certification services to accelerate processing times and improve efficiency.
In addition to domestic efforts, BPJPH is building international cooperation through forums and strategic partnerships with halal institutions in several countries, including Russia, the United States, and China.
This initiative is intended to expand recognition of Indonesia’s halal certificates and strengthen the global halal ecosystem.
“The clear objective is to make Indonesian halal products more competitive in global markets and position Indonesia as the world’s halal hub,” Haikal said.
He added that countries such as China, Brazil, and the United States are now seriously developing halal products to meet growing global demand.
“This trend is expanding as halal becomes a new lifestyle,” Haikal noted.
