MSMEs Minister Maman Abdurrahman at the Indonesia Modification & Lifestyle Expo (IMX) 2025 in Tangerang District, Banten, on Friday, emphasized that the automotive sector plays a strategic role that is often overlooked in the general surroundings of MSMEs.
"Thousands of small and medium enterprise players are actively involved in the automotive industry, starting from the production of body kits, rims, to components for vehicle modification," he said in a statement issued by the Ministry of MSMEs.
Abdurrahman affirmed that his ministry is ready to provide support for all automotive and modification players through the expansion of financing access, export market development, training on management and finance, and mentoring for capital market access through the rise to IPO program.
"We are ready to collaborate so that products like rims, body kits, and other automotive components can penetrate global markets. The government will provide support in financing and business capacity improvement," he said.
The minister commended MSME players who have been the backbone of the national automotive industry's supply chain, supplying various essential components that support the performance and aesthetic appearance of vehicles.
"We should not only focus on the luxury cars, but also on how their supporting components are created by small and medium enterprise players," he said.
He expressed optimism that the IMX 2025 will encourage the creation of new business opportunities and enhance the competitiveness of automotive MSME players, which will eventually help them be able to contribute to the development of the national automotive industry.
On that occasion, Minister Abdurrahman also stressed the importance of expanding perspectives regarding MSMEs.
