"The IGDX 2025 serves as a strategic platform for Indonesian game developers to connect with publishers, investors, distributors, and global media, turning dialogue into collaboration and business opportunities," she remarked at the event held in Badung, Bali.
Hafid described Indonesia's gaming industry as a fast-growing ecosystem, supported by market expansion, job creation, and technological innovation.
She noted that with over 2,100 active game developers and publishers, the sector generates Rp71 trillion (US$4.2 billion) annually, contributing 0.34 percent to Indonesia's gross domestic product.
Indonesia also has 154 million game players, representing 40 percent of Southeast Asia's gamer population, making it one of the world's top four markets by consumer base, she added.
"The IGDX 2025 is among the most important events for the development of Indonesia’s gaming ecosystem. Since its first edition in 2019, it has grown into one of Southeast Asia's largest," Hafid said.
The 2025 edition runs from October 9 to 11, featuring several key programs, including IGDX Business, where around 50 local developers showcase creative works and engage with investors and publishers.
The event also includes IGDX Conference, which gathers domestic and international figures for discussions and talk shows, and sessions for capacity-building such as IGDX Bootcamp, IGDX Career, and IGDX Academy, featuring global mentors.
