“Our first rule is to ensure equal distribution — geographically, across study programs, and industry sectors,” Yassierli said in an interview in Jakarta on Saturday.
He noted that the ministry would not only focus on specific positions but also ensure diversity in available internship roles so that graduates from various academic backgrounds can participate.
Yassierli revealed that at least 1,000 companies have committed to joining the program. The registration period for companies and internship proposals ran from October 1 to 14, 2025, followed by intern registration until October 15, 2025.
“This is a great opportunity for companies to introduce themselves to job seekers,” the minister said.
The Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) professor added that the 2025 National Internship Program is also a valuable opportunity for recent university graduates to strengthen their skills and gain experience in the industrial sector.
“It’s a good chance for job seekers to gain exposure to industry and enhance their workplace competencies,” he said.
For the government, he continued, the program also supports the “School to Work Transition Program,” designed to help graduates enter the labor market.
“After graduation, we provide a large-scale national internship program to help them build competencies. After that, they can enter the workforce,” Yassierli explained.
In its first phase, the 2025 National Internship Program allocates an initial quota of 20,000 fresh graduates.
During the six-month internship, participants will receive a monthly stipend equivalent to the regional or provincial minimum wage (UMK/UMP) for Jakarta, paid by the government through state-owned banks (Himbara: BNI, BRI, BTN, Mandiri, BSI).
In addition to the stipend, interns will receive social security coverage for workplace accidents (JKK) and death benefits (JM), mentoring from host companies, and internship certificates upon completion.
According to Ministerial Regulation No. 8 of 2025, the program targets diploma (D1–D4) and bachelor’s degree (S1) graduates who completed their studies within one year prior to registration, through the platform maganghub.kemnaker.go.id, covering graduates from October 1, 2024, to September 30, 2025.
