The program, called Siap Kerja or Ready for Work, is designed to provide hands-on experience through an integrated digital platform, he said after a cabinet meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace.
“The Siap Kerja platform will start on October 15. Companies are already uploading their data, and internship registration will open on the launch date,” Hartarto told reporters.
Students and graduates will be able to log into the system using profiles integrated with data from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. The system will automatically validate their eligibility, he added.

Companies taking part include state-owned enterprises, private firms, and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) as well as the Indonesian Employers’ Association (Apindo).
Interns will receive stipends transferred directly to their bank accounts, Hartarto said. The government encourages participants to use state-owned banks to streamline payment processing.
“Once accepted, interns will receive their honorarium directly in their accounts, preferably through state banks,” he added.
Last week, Manpower Minister Yassierli underscored that the program is open to all fresh graduates regardless of social background.
“This is not social assistance but a mechanism to create job opportunities, even if temporary,” Yassierli said.
