"I believe that with the spirit of collaboration, we can continuously build a stronger, more inclusive, and globally competitive events ecosystem," she said at the Southeast Asia Business Events Forum (SEABEF) 2025 in Tangerang, Banten, on Saturday, according to a statement confirmed on Sunday.
Puspa underlined that the events industry's success in the future is not determined by the intensity of competition, but by the effectiveness of all parties in collaborating.
"We hope to meet again at the SEABEF 2026 and to continue to cooperate in making Southeast Asia a leading global hub of the business events industry," the deputy minister said.
Titus Haridjati, Assistant Deputy for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibition (MICE) at the Ministry of Tourism, noted that this year's SEABEF featured five key points.
The first point is a strong commitment to sustainability issues, with stakeholders attending the forum agreeing to adopt sustainability standards in the events industry in the future.
Second, various discussions highlighted significant potential for investment opportunities, especially in the event infrastructure, technology, and human resources development.
Third, the participants agreed to form a Southeast Asian events industry collaboration network to continue various dialogues and joint initiatives from the SEABEF 2025.
Fourth, new technologies like artificial intelligence (AI) and data analytics were recognized as key tools in improving efficiency in the events industry.
Lastly, the forum highlighted the importance of human resource development through skills upgrading and certification programs to help the workers have global-level competencies.
SEABEF 2025 took place on October 10 and 11, 2025, and was attended by 250 participants from various countries in the Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific regions, representing government institutions, industry associations, academic communities, and the private sector.
