Agung Suganda, Director General of Livestock and Animal Health, said national broiler production has continued to rise in recent months, reflecting a positive trend in the poultry sector.
As of October 2025, production is projected to reach 372,867 tons, while domestic demand is estimated at 325,641 tons—resulting in a surplus of 47,226 tons.
"This indicates strong performance in the national poultry farming sector," Suganda said.
He noted that the surplus highlights a more efficient and adaptive poultry industry, driven by cooperation between the government, poultry businesses, and farmers to strengthen food production and distribution systems.

To maintain stable prices and ensure uninterrupted supply ahead of the holidays, the Ministry of Agriculture has partnered with the National Food Agency (Bapanas) and poultry producers.
According to data from the Ministry of Trade, the average price of broiler chicken in the second week of October stood at Rp38,743 per kilogram, below the government’s reference price of Rp40,000 per kilogram. Officials say this reflects smooth supply and distribution from producers to consumers.
“This condition shows that market supply is going well and distribution channels remain relatively smooth,” Suganda added.
Meanwhile, I Ketut Gusti Astawa, Deputy for Food Stabilization and Availability at Bapanas, voiced support for the coordinated efforts to ensure sufficient chicken supply.
“Bapanas’ monitoring shows that broiler chicken prices in most provinces remain stable and affordable. This suggests that the national food distribution system is growing stronger,” he said.
