Jakarta (ANTARA) - Bio Farma emphasized its commitment to continuously strengthening vaccine independence and global health resilience by creating a more innovative, sustainable, and equitable global vaccine ecosystem.

President Director of Bio Farma, Shadiq Akasya, emphasized this commitment ahead of the 26th Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network (DCVMN) Annual General Meeting (AGM).

"As co-host and an active member of DCVMN, Bio Farma is committed to making this forum a platform for strategic synergy among members," said Shadiq, as noted in a release received here on Monday (Oct 20).

Through PT Bio Farma (Persero), Indonesia has been entrusted to co-host the 26th Developing Countries Vaccine Manufacturers Network (DCVMN) Annual General Meeting (AGM), which will be held on October 29-31, 2025, at The Meru Sanur, Bali.

DCVMN is a global network comprising 46 vaccine manufacturers from 17 countries across Asia, Africa, Europe, and Latin America, including Argentina, Bangladesh, Brazil, China, Ghana, India, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, South Africa, South Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Established in 2000, DCVMN aims to strengthen the capacity of vaccine manufacturers in developing countries through advocacy, fostering collaborations, increasing wallet share and professional training on technology advancement, research and development, and knowledge transfer.

Shadiq hopes that the 26th DCVMN AGM in Indonesia will demonstrate Indonesia's concrete contribution to strengthening an innovative, sustainable, and equitable global vaccine ecosystem.

Meanwhile, Chair of the DCVMN Board Adriansjah Azhari stressed on the importance of cross-country collaboration in strengthening global immunization systems.

"With the theme ‘Advancing Innovation & Building Resilient Vaccine Ecosystem for a Safer World,’ the 26th DCVMN AGM will serve as a strategic forum to accelerate innovation among vaccine manufacturers in developing countries," he said.

"We believe that only through strong global partnerships can the world achieve a more robust and equitable immunization system for all,” he added.

DCVMN CEO Rajinder Suri also expressed his appreciation for the organization of the meeting.

"It is both a pleasure and honour for us to co-host the AGM in the holi city of Bali, Indonesia, with our renowned member company PT BioFarma, a trusted partner from the very inception!," he said.

"We are looking forward to many strategic decisions and collaborations during this AGM leading to better preparedness of the world against any future public health emergency of international concern," he added.

The international meeting will bring together more than 350 participants, including global vaccine industry leaders, regulators, researchers, and representatives from WHO, UNICEF, GAVI, CEPI, PATH, CHAI, and the Gates Foundation, as well as key stakeholders from both national and international health sectors.

Through this event, Bio Farma and DCVMN reaffirm their shared commitment to strengthening collaboration, fostering innovation, and building a sustainable global health system that ensures equitable vaccine access for all.
