We will oversee every step related to the transfer of assets and human resources, ensuring that each is carried out in an orderly and accountable manner,
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) have reviewed Indonesia’s Hajj management assets in Saudi Arabia, following President Prabowo Subianto’s directive for comprehensive improvements in Hajj governance.

The Indonesian delegation during the official visit comprised Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, AGO Director of Intelligence Affairs Setiawan Budi, and Indonesia’s legal attaché to Saudi Arabia Erianto Nazar, among others.

In a statement cited here on Monday, Head of the ministry’s Financial and General Affairs Bureau Slamet Sodali said the officials were in Saudi Arabia to follow up on several key matters related to preparations for next year’s Hajj pilgrimage agenda.

“Our objectives include advancing the transfer of assets to our ministry from the Ministry of Religious Affairs and the Health Ministry,” he said, referring to Indonesia’s Hajj Affairs Office in Jeddah and the Indonesian Hajj Health Clinic in Mecca.

Sodali noted that the transfer process would begin with an inventory of assets already registered in the State Property Management and Accounting Information System (SIMAK BMN), followed by unlisted assets.

He underlined that the process would be carried out transparently and in an orderly manner, with AGO supervision to ensure it remains within the legal framework.

The move follows President Prabowo’s instruction to transfer Hajj organizing duties to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah — established last August — from the Ministry of Religious Affairs starting next year.

In the same statement, AGO Intelligence Director Budi affirmed his institution’s commitment to supporting and overseeing the entire transition process, as mandated by President Prabowo and Attorney General Sanitiar Burhanuddin.

“We will oversee every step related to the transfer of assets and human resources, ensuring that each is carried out in an orderly and accountable manner,” he said.

Budi added that AGO’s involvement reflects the government’s commitment to working closely with law enforcement to ensure the Hajj implementation is grounded in good governance and protected from asset misappropriation.
