The weeklong Latgabmapad Bhakti Kanyini Ausindo 2025 exercise, held in Bayah, South Lebak, Banten, runs from October 26 to 31.
The annual drill focuses on Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) operations between the two countries’ armed forces.
“The exercise strengthens military cooperation and friendship between Indonesia and Australia,” Air Force Spokesman Air Commodore I Nyoman Suadnyana said in a statement.
He added that the training enhances both forces’ capabilities in disaster victim evacuation and emergency response.
During the field training phase, TNI AU pilots Capt. Bagus and 1st Lt. Raga flew the Caracal helicopter through a series of flight maneuvers, including medical evacuation simulations.
The crew practiced airlifting victims from coastal zones and designated helipads to medical facilities.
“These activities were conducted on the third and fourth days of the Field Training Exercise (FTX),” Nyoman said.
He confirmed that all drills proceeded smoothly and met their operational goals. “We hope this exercise will further improve the evacuation and disaster-response skills of both the TNI AU and ADF,” he added.
The Bhakti Kanyini series is part of a long-running bilateral defense partnership between Indonesia and Australia, designed to build interoperability, trust, and joint readiness in humanitarian and crisis situations.
