Speaking at the second session of the APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting (AELM) in Gyeongju, South Korea, on Saturday, he emphasized the need for stronger international cooperation to combat cross-border crimes such as smuggling, corruption, drug trafficking, and online gambling, which undermine national economic stability.
"Indonesia is estimated to lose around US$8 billion annually due to outflows of funds caused by online gambling," he stated.
In his remarks, President Prabowo also underlined the importance of technological advancement as a key driver of national progress, which can only be achieved through close collaboration among Asia-Pacific economies.

He reaffirmed Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening digital education and improving technological literacy for its people.
"We want to participate in all APEC initiatives aimed at enhancing capacity in technology and education. We also want to empower small businesses and strengthen our health system amid demographic change," he said.
Prabowo added that the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and advanced technologies is crucial for Indonesia to accelerate poverty eradication and achieve food self-sufficiency.
"We are entering a new era marked by rapid advances in high technology, particularly AI. We also understand that we must confront the challenges posed by demographic change," he remarked.

He reiterated that his administration is committed to eradicating poverty and hunger through swift and measured actions.
Before the second session of the 2025 APEC Summit, President Prabowo took a front-row seat next to South Korean President Lee Jae Myung—who hosted and chaired the summit—during the group photo session on Saturday.
President Prabowo attended the 2025 APEC Summit in Gyeongju from October 31 to November 1, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Investment and CEO of Danantara Rosan Perkasa Roeslani, and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
