Jambi (ANTARA) - Local government leaders play a crucial role in the success of Indonesia’s 2026 education revitalization and digitalization program, the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (Kemendikdasmen) said Friday.

“The support of local leaders is essential for the success of the 2026 education revitalization and digitalization program,” said Minister Abdul Muti during the Coordination Meeting for Local Leaders at Hall 3, ICE BSD City, Tangerang.

The meeting brought together leaders from across Indonesia, along with representatives from provincial and district education offices, under the theme “Synergy in Realizing Quality Education for All.”

Muti stressed that the program, through collaboration between central and local governments, aims to create a more advanced and equitable national education system.

“This initiative is a concrete step toward improving education quality and accessibility nationwide,” he said.

The 2026 National Coordination Meeting (Rakornas) marks a milestone in Indonesia’s education transformation journey, aiming to accelerate equitable access to quality learning.

Diza Hazra Aljosha, Deputy Mayor of Jambi, highlighted his city’s commitment to supporting all central government education programs.

“We hope the synergy between central, provincial, and city governments will continue to strengthen, producing a competitive and capable next generation,” he said.

He noted the meeting covered extensive material, including the Dapodik data system, and said revitalizing educational units can also stimulate local economies through the Education Unit Development Committee and the Strategic Program Acceleration Task Force (P2SP).

Jambi’s support aligns with its “Happy Jambi City” priority program, which includes the “Happy Card” initiative in education.

The city has implemented digital learning systems and provides scholarships to thousands of underprivileged students, contributing to the broader goal of Indonesia Gold 2045.
