He delivered the statement during a working meeting with Commission V of the House of Representatives in Jakarta.
The government is also aiming to rehabilitate 1,000 Islamic schools and seven universities, he added.
Dody said the targets reflect the government's support for education, worship, sports, socio-cultural development, the economy, and health to build superior human resources.
"Although not as large as spending on physical infrastructure such as roads or dams, this budget plays a crucial role in building social resilience and strengthening local economic networks," he remarked.
He added that the ministry aims to ensure that the facilities are built quickly and with high quality.
Phase II construction of Sekolah Rakyat entered the tender stage in September 2025 and is designed to accommodate 112,320 students.
The plan covers 1,872 elementary school classes for 56,160 students, 936 junior high school classes for 28,080 students, and 936 senior high school classes for 28,080 students.
All Sekolah Rakyat will be built permanently on 5–10 hectares of land prepared by local governments and are targeted for completion by the 2026/2027 academic year.
