Johannesburg, Afrika Selatan (ANTARA) - Indonesian Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka stated that the priority program Makan Bergizi Gratis (Free Nutritious Meals/MBG), initiated by President Prabowo Subianto is a strategic investment.

The Vice President delivered the remarks at the G20 Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Saturday.

At the second session of the G20 Summit attended by dozens of world leaders, Gibran emphasized that food security and the MBG program are not merely economic agendas.

"Indonesia President focused on food security and the Free Nutritious Meals program for 80 million students and pregnant women as a strategic investment. This initiative boosts the use of local products, empowers farmers and livestock breeders and expands economic activities across various sectors," he said.

According to him, the MBG program has generated multiple effects, including increased use of local raw materials and the empowerment of farmers and breeders as suppliers.
