Upon arriving at the Presidential Palace Complex in Jakarta, Satria noted that this was his first meeting with the president since being appointed to lead BRIN on November 10. “Yes, today we begin discussions with the President,” he told reporters.
He explained that the agenda included briefing the head of state on BRIN’s achievements and outlining strategies to build a more supportive ecosystem for food and energy innovation, as well as ongoing collaborative research projects with other institutions in Indonesia.
The BRIN chief emphasized that the agency is working to expand cross‑sector collaboration to promote research‑based government policies and align national development programs with innovative products generated by researchers.
Satria also highlighted plans for BRIN to cooperate with Danantara on research and innovation projects designed to support the business growth of state‑owned enterprises whose assets are managed by the investment body.
He added that BRIN and Danantara will soon hold a meeting to discuss the partnership further.
In addition, he stressed that BRIN’s provincial, district, and municipal branches have been established to broaden the reach of innovation, ensuring that research outputs from universities and institutions can provide solutions to local challenges.
“I believe that locally driven innovation can strengthen regional economies and ultimately contribute to the stability of the national economy,” he said.
To that end, Satria underlined his commitment to empowering local researchers and enhancing collaboration with higher education institutions to translate research into tools for regional and national development.
