Jakarta (ANTARA) - Deputy Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Yuliot Tanjung confirmed that fuel oil and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) stocks remain secure for the 2025 Christmas and 2026 New Year holiday period.

In a ministry's statement here on Wednesday, he emphasized that the government is committed to maintaining national fuel reserves at safe levels while ensuring supply quality.

"We are also maintaining the quality of supply," Tanjung said during his working visit to the Plumpang Integrated Terminal (IT).

The working visit followed directives from ESDM Minister Bahlil Lahadalia to ensure adequate fuel and LPG supply ahead of the year-end holidays.

President Director of oil and gas commercial & trading subholding PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Mars Ega Legowo Putra explained that Plumpang has been strengthened with risk-mitigation measures, including a buffer recovery unit designed to respond to specific vulnerabilities in the area.

The terminal's main supply is transported through a 212-kilometer pipeline from the Balongan Refinery in the north and the Cilacap Refinery in the south.

Meanwhile, the Christmas and New Year Holiday Task Force will prioritize disaster-prone zones and tourist destinations, supported by additional modular storage tanks, reassigned industrial fleets, and extra Mini Serambi MyPertamina services.

Fuel oil stocks in frontier, outermost, and underserved regions, including Mentawai and the Seribu Islands, are being increased, along with enhanced readiness of fuel-truck crews backed by stocks from the military for emergencies.

Special Adviser to the ESDM Minister Satya Hangga stressed the importance of synergy in maintaining both supply quality and quantity, noting that local problems in fuels can quickly escalate nationally.

Meanwhile, the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) reminded stakeholders of the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency's (BMKG's) forecast of extreme weather through February 2026 that may disrupt oil tanker docking.
