As cited from a statement here on Friday, he emphasized that his ministry will continue efforts to deepen collaboration between universities, the business community, and the government while supporting the economy through sustainable, inclusive, and research-based tourism development.
Yuliarto conveyed the statement at the 13th Congress of the Association of Indonesian Faculty of Economics and Business (AFEBI) in West Lombok District, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) Province, on Thursday (November 27).
On that occasion, the minister also underlined the need for all faculties of economics and business (FEB) nationwide to deliver stronger contributions to the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the national economy.
"FEBs must emerge as catalysts capable of connecting science, policies, and analyses to support national economic transformation," he stated.
He argued that FEBs have the capacity to nurture more independent, innovative, and impactful academic activities on campuses, thereby playing a strategic role in raising higher education quality and supporting Indonesia’s economic position.
Furthermore, the minister urged Indonesian FEBs to help create a more conducive investment ecosystem and foster innovations that can contribute to both local and national economic development.
NTB Governor Lalu Muhammad Iqbal echoed a similar view, noting that strong collaboration between academicians and government officials is crucial to ensuring inclusive and sustainable development across Indonesian regions.
"We are in the era of collaboration. In fact, NTB has partnered with East Nusa Tenggara and Bali in the fields of tourism, energy, and connectivity. It is this kind of synergy that lays a foundation for accelerating regional development," he remarked.
Raising the theme “Impactful Campuses for the Acceleration of Sustainable Tourism Development,” the 13th AFEBI Congress gathered deans, FEB leaders, academicians, and relevant stakeholders in higher education.
