“We are ensuring all staff move quickly, stay responsive and work with all partners so food supplies remain secure,” Rizal said in a statement.
He added that Bulog’s efforts reflect its commitment to supporting disaster-hit residents and maintaining food stability.
“In an emergency like this, nothing is more important than ensuring people feel safe,” he said.
Bulog has delivered 1,300 kg of rice, 60 kg of sugar, 178 liters of cooking oil, 10 boxes of instant noodles, 10 boxes of packaged food and 600 meal boxes to residents in Padang for daily needs.
Bulog has distributed October–November food assistance to Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra totaling 34,302,520 kg of rice and 6,860,504 liters of cooking oil.
The allocations include 10,613,640 kg of rice and 2,122,728 liters of cooking oil for Aceh; 16,893,920 kg of rice and 3,378,784 liters of cooking oil for North Sumatra; and 6,794,960 kg of rice and 1,358,992 liters of cooking oil for West Sumatra.
As of Nov. 30, Bulog also distributed regional government food reserves (CPPD) to the three provinces: 152,893 kg of rice for Aceh, 72,630 kg for North Sumatra and 61,554 kg for West Sumatra, bringing total CPPD aid to more than 287 tonnes.

Bulog expressed condolences over the widespread flooding across Sumatra, noting its severe impact on communities.
Rizal said the agency remains committed to providing food and logistical support by strengthening coordination with local governments and other partners to speed recovery.
During an inspection of Bulog’s disaster-response post in Lubuk Minturun, Padang, Rizal accompanied House Commission IV chair Siti Hediati Hariyadi (Titiek Soeharto), deputy chair Alex Indra Lukman and West Sumatra Deputy Governor Vasko Ruseimy.
Additional aid was handed over to ensure food availability and logistics for affected residents.
“Together with Bulog, we are distributing rice, cooking oil, noodles and sugar to residents impacted by the disaster in Padang—and not only here, but also in North Sumatra and Aceh. This reflects the government’s rapid response,” Titiek said.
