During his dialogue with affected residents, Gibran said that all feedback and complaints regarding the government’s disaster response had been noted and would be promptly reported to President Prabowo Subianto.
He also conveyed the President’s directive that disaster handling must prioritize vulnerable groups, including older adults, pregnant women, and children.
Gibran called on the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), local governments, the National Armed Forces (TNI), and the National Police (Polri) to ensure proper conditions at evacuation tents and to meet the needs for food and clean water.
He added that he would continue monitoring conditions on the ground and the progress of post-disaster recovery efforts.
In addition to Agam District, West Sumatra, the vice president is scheduled to visit South Tapanuli District in North Sumatra and Aceh Singkil District in Aceh.
