However, the allocation of these funds remains pending as the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB) has yet to submit a formal funding request.
"We are waiting for a request from BNPB," Minister Purbaya stated in Bali on Friday.
He confirmed that a special task force has been formed in the affected regions. While he declined to specify the total amount prepared, he emphasized, "If there’s a shortfall, it can be calculated. The funds are ready."
The disaster, which has reportedly claimed the lives of 836 people and displaced tens of thousands of residents, has resulted in extensive destruction of homes across the three provinces.
Joint military and civilian teams are currently focused on ongoing evacuation, search operations, road clearance, and aid distribution.
The Minister confirmed the BNPB retains an existing budget of approximately Rp500–600 billion (US$29–35 million) for immediate emergency disaster management.
The additional funding would be taken from the emergency disaster fund allocated in the State Budget and channeled through the Additional Expenditure Budget (ABT) mechanism.
Purbaya noted the ABT process is ready to be activated immediately upon submission of a request from the BNPB.
The announcement follows the finalization of the BNPB’s 2025 budget allocation, set at Rp2.01 trillion (US$116 million). This represents a significant reduction from the Rp4.92 trillion (US$287 million) allocated to the agency in 2024.
